The Great Pursuit
“Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.” (1 John 3:18)
“….pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” (2 Timothy 2:22b)
The word given me yesterday, “Love Never Fails”, is still moving in my spirit. And, this morning I am feeling an urgency. It is like when you know you have to be somewhere or do something very important, and you are making every effort to make it on time.
Out of that feeling comes the word, ‘pursue’. The dictionary defines it as: “To follow in order to overtake, capture, kill, or destroy.” It is not simply a casual, laid back feeling; but, an all out, no holds barred effort.
“One thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:13b-14)
This is the FAST we are called to. Now, more than ever God is calling us to an ALL OUT PURSUIT of HIM.
The Lord says, “Seek Me. Pursue Me. For I AM pursuing you. This is the Dance of Divine Intimacy. This is the intercourse between Lover and Beloved.”
“You have become casual in our relationship, My Beloved. You have spent your energy in many pursuits; you have given your affections over to many lovers. You have sown your seed upon barren soil and the fruit has withered before your eyes, your harvest has only been that of thorns and briers.”
“But NOW that is changing,” says the Lord, “for I AM your LOVER, and I pursue you with a heart filled with passion. My LOVE is a Jealous Love. It is a BLAZING FIRE. And it will not be denied”
The Lord says, “I have allowed so much to be stripped away that you will once again understand that I AM YOUR ONLY LOVER. I have not allowed the barren places to be ones of punishment; but, ones of AWAKENING. And, NOW, is the time of that awakening. SEEK ME, PURSUE ME, and you will FIND ME.”
“In the finding, we will DANCE. We will dance the DANCE OF DIVINE INTIMACY. And, I will pour out My EXTRAVAGANT GIFTS upon you as we dance. I will cloth you with My Glory as we dance, I will open the doors of Heaven and pour out, pour out as we dance. For this is the Day of FULFILLMENT. This is the day of GREAT RETURN, and the Day of the Dancing Bride.”
“All this, My Beloved, will lead to My Way of Love. You are to walk on that Way, for I AM the Way. Pursue Me,” says the Lord, “and you will find righteousness, faith, love and peace filling every fiber of your being.”
“Like a FIRE IN YOUR BONES, righteousness, faith, love and peace will burn in you. The light of that fire will shatter all darkness. The heat of that fire will draw all men unto Me. And, you will step forward in the days ahead carrying My Fire to the nations. You will not simply tell others about Me; but, you will REVEAL ME with signs, wonders, miracles. You will confirm My Word burning in your hearts, My Eternal Word, with every step you take, in every work I give you to do.”
The Lord says, “This is what I mean by a PURE HEART. This is the FAST I’ve called you to. Therefore, My Beloved, RETURN TO ME WITH ALL YOUR HEART. PURSUE ME, let nothing hinder you in the pursuit; for, this is the DAY OF RETURN and RELEASE. This is the time of GREAT HARVEST. This year, NOW, is the DAY OF MY KINGDOM GLORY. I AM jealous for you-be jealous for ME. I AM pursuing you-pursue ME. Do not hold back; for you will truly Taste and See that I AM good if you do not hold back.”
