Return to Me
“Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:4)
Today is my beautiful Donna’s birthday, and I am filled with delight. As I sit here, I hear Papa God ask, “Are you filled with delight for Me?” Not a pleading, whining, needy question. Just a quiet whisper into my heart, yet it called me to attention.
My wife, Donna, is the joy of my heart; but, what about my relationship with God? Am I as filled with delight for Him as I am for my wife? It’s a matter of the heart.
The dictionary defines ‘delight’ as, “a high degree of gratification: Joy; extreme satisfaction; something that gives great pleasure.” And, I hear the Lord say:
“Come back to Me, My Beloved. You have left your First Love to follow after other lovers. You have exchanged the pleasures of our intimacy, the Pure Gold of My Glory, for the cheaper, temporal pleasures of this world. What have I done that you would do such a thing? Have I wounded you so that you would walk away from Me and find your pleasures in the houses of men?”
The Lord says, “Come back to Me. Return to Me. You were not satisfied, so you left Me. I let you go. I did not force you to stay with Me. I let you go so that you would find that only in Me is your heart quieted and filled. Only in Me are your desires met and your hopes and dreams fulfilled. Therefore, My Beloved, return to Me.”
“You spent your resources on that which has not satisfied. You have built houses in the sand and they have crumbled before you. But, that is now past. I let this all happen that you would see such foolishness of heart, that you would wake up and return to your First Love. That old foolishness is over. The places of descecration are swept away. The old is GONE. This is a new day. It is the Day of Great Return. And, it is the Day of Double Portion-of ABUNDANT FULFILLMENT and COMPLETION.”
“I welcome you back into My arms, and place upon you the Riches of My Glorious Inheritance,” says the Lord. “I do not shame you. I do not speak words of condemnation. I speak only tender, joyful words of Love”
“Know this, My Beloved. There is NO SHAME, NO CONDEMNATION. Come back to Me just as you are in a spirit of humility and a spirit of repentance. And, I will remove the garments of your wanderings, the soiled garments of the old ways. And, I will place upon you new garments, Royal Garments of My Kingdom. And, I will place a ring upon your finger, My Signet Ring. I will place a crown of glory upon your head, and jeweled sandles upon your feet.”
“And, I will lead you to MY BANQUET TABLE, the Table set before you in the presence of your defeated enemies, the Table of the Lord. On that Table is the Bread of Heaven and the Cup of New Wine. And, over that table is My BANNER OF LOVE. And, your heart will once more be filled to overflowing. And, you will be before all nations the GLORY OF PRAISE. And, all your enemies will be paraded in defeat and terror before your glory.”
“This I will do in these days of Great Return. All you lost will be restored to you-DOUBLE PORTION. And, you will dance with Me the DANCE OF INTIMACY, and you will remember your past days no more. The old is gone, Beloved, all is NEW. Come back to the New,” says the Lord.
“Children, you have not lost your inheritance, you have not missed your Destiny. Return to Me NOW, and you will truly Taste and See. You will KNOW that I AM your Father who will never forsake you, I AM your Husband who Loves You with an abundant, eternal Love. I AM the One who pours out every desire of your heart into your hands. I LOVE YOU.”
